Random Book Review – The Demon’s In the Details

I just finished The Demon’s In the Details by Meghan Maslow and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it.

Story time– I found this book via Facebook recommendation in one of the groups I follow. I looked into it and downloaded a sample for one reason: someone said the love interest is described as “a murder twink.”

I LOVE me some small, pretty, unassuming, could-kill-you-without-even-trying guys. AND I’ve read some of Maslow’s other books and enjoyed them. She has strong writing and a great sense of humor.

This particular story is a Rumpelstiltskin retelling. Not really one of my favorite fairytales, I’m not gonna lie, but Maslow took this story and completely redeemed it with her retelling. It stars a raven shifter and sometimes thief who is trying to protect his roost from an awful leader and the murder twink demon he is forced to ask for favors. It’s a bit mafia, a bit cheesy, a bit hilarious, and really steamy. If you’re into MM books, you have to check it out.

Random Book Review- Brimstone By Angel Martinez

It’s been a while, but after I DEVOURED this series, I felt compelled to share a random book review for the Brimstone Series by Angel Martinez!

Angels and Demons in space? A character that is 100% wicked chaotic good? Floating cows, talking pink hedgehogs, and characters with depth? What more do you need to know? Go read it.

Okay, fine, here’s another reason: it also contains an absolutely wonderful and refreshing poly/triad grouping that includes a trans character. What are you still doing here? Go, shoo. The first book is Potato Surprise. There are also several collections of side bits set in the universe, but I haven’t gotten to them yet–I had to read the main story to the end or die. It’s been a while since I found a book/series that was so much of everything I craved. Enjoy!
